Corporate Services Branch

The Corporate Services Branch has two divisions within the department:

Responsibilities

The branch provides financial management, internal auditing, and policy, planning and evaluation services to Provincial Office and to regions.

The branch is also responsible for matters relating to human resources and information technology which are delivered by the Division of Strategic Human Resource Management for the Social Sector and the Office of the Chief Information Officer. The branch also provides financial services to the Labour Relations Agency and the Income and Employment Support Appeal Board.

Services

  • Coordinates planning and accountability measures through the development of the: strategic plan, operational plan, annual performance report, performance contract and progress reports, business continuity plan and financial report for the entire department.
  • The branch coordinates: web site renovation, legislative review, federal-provincial-territorial relations, policy development, research and evaluation, access to information requests, protection of privacy practices and red tape reduction.
  • The branch also coordinates all aspects of financial management, including: departmental budgets, operating expenses, accommodations, audits, client payments and general operations of departmental facilities.

Clients

Direct clients are internal to government employees, elected officials, individuals requiring payments, clients wishing to appeal decisions and individuals requesting access to information.
