Policy, Planning, and Evaluation Division

The Policy, Planning and Evaluation Division coordinates departmental activities related to developing new policies, evaluating programs and planning for the department.

Services

  • Provide executive support through coordinating legislative reviews and the preparation of briefing materials, cabinet papers and central agency requests.
  • Coordinate planning and accountability measures through the development of strategic, operational and work plans; annual performance reports and performance contracts.
  • Represent the department and supports the minister and executive on federal, provincial and territorial committees and forums.
  • Respond to access to information requests and advises on protection of privacy matters for clients and employees.
  • Conduct research, evaluates programs and services, monitors trends and conducts statistical analysis.
  • Coordinate and leads cross-government initiatives, such as regulatory reform.
  • Participate in interdepartmental initiatives, such as the Healthy Aging Strategy, Wellness Strategy and Poverty Reduction Strategy.

Clients

Clients are internal employees, elected officials, other government departments, federal-provincial-territorial governments, consultants and individuals requesting access to information.
