Family Justice Services

Family Justice Services (FJS) offers a free service to any resident within the province who requires services of support application social workers, mediators or counsellors. The goal of FJS is to deal with family law issues, in a timely and fair manner, outside the court setting.

When applying for income support, you are required to seek all financial resources available including child and spousal support. FJS can help you with this. You can access services by either completing an “Application to Court” or a “Request for ServicePDF (72 KB) form. Advanced Education and Skills also has an internal process whereby applicants and recipients of Income Support are referred to FJS.

In addition to child support and spousal support, FJS provides services in other family law matters. Staff provides parent education, dispute resolution and counselling services to families who are experiencing issues of custody, access, child support and spousal support.
