Post-Secondary Instructor Certification

The requirements to obtain Post-Secondary Instructor Certification are the following Memorial University Education Courses (or equivalent):

  • ED2710 - Course Organization and Development
  • ED2720 - Introduction to Post-Secondary Education
  • ED2730 - General Methods of Teaching in Post-Secondary Education
  • ED2801 - The Adult as Learner
  • ED3280 - Educational Assessment
  • ED3801 - Educational Media

Individuals who possess a Bachelor of Education (Primary/Elementary) or Bachelor of Education (Intermediate/Secondary) degree are required to complete the following Memorial University Education Courses (or equivalent):

  • ED2710 - Course Organization and Development
  • ED2730 - General Methods of Teaching in Post-Secondary Education
  • ED3280 - Educational Assessment

Individuals who possess a Bachelor of Education (Post-Secondary) or a Master of Education degree already meet the requirements for Post-Secondary Instructor Certification.

Upon completion of the required courses, application for the Post-Secondary Instructor’s Certificate must be made to the Director of Literacy and Institutional Services, including a letter of request and an official transcript from Memorial University showing completion of required courses. Applications must be forwarded to:
